A scene from Movie Major League plays out Cleveland wins a stunner 7-5 over Yankees

CLEVELAND, OH (NEW YORK YANKEES APP) - The game played out like a scene from the 1989 movie Major League as Cleveland stunned the Yankees on Thurday night when David Fry hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat the Yankees 7-5 in game three of the seven game series.

The Yankees were one out away, one strike away, from taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. With two huge swings, Johonkensky Noel saved the season for Cleveland with a two-run, pinch hit-homer with two outs in the ninth inning and Fry hit a two-run shot in the 10th inning. An emotional rollercoaster of a game will go down as a post season classic.

"That was playoff baseball" Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. "Both sides just kept coming with haymakers and big at-bats, big moments off of two really good bullpens. They outlasted us. They had one more good swing than us. That's part of it. We'll be ready to roll tomorrow."

The Yankees are now 196-2 in their postseason history when leading by muliple runs in the ninth inning or later. The series continues in Cleveland with game 4 action on Friday with RHP Gavin Williams on the mound for Cleveland and Luis Gil for New York.
