Fire danger rises as Casper area remains hot, dry through Thursday
CASPER, Wyo. — A fire weather watch will go into effect on Thursday as Natrona County continues to see very high temperatures and dry conditions. According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, the watch goes into effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening, with fire conditions exacerbated by potentially gusty afternoon winds and near-record high temperatures in parts of Natrona and Johnson counties.

Reiner is currently 15th in the world and hopes that CFD will make a difference in his 2024 season again. Today, a highlight will occur at Frontier Park when he competes in the bareback riding and watches his younger brother, Clay, in the steer wrestling.
CHAPS brings the Tournament of Knights to Sheridan for the 7th year
The Knights of Valor are returning to compete in Sheridan during a one day medieval festival to benefit CHAPS Equine Assisted Services. For the seventh year, CHAPS has organized the Tournament of Knights to raise funds for their programs. A troupe of jousting knights will compete at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds on July 27.

Powell hosts the 2024 Wyoming American Legion Baseball Class ‘A’ State Tournament from July 27-31. It is an eight-team, modified, double-elimination bracket. The Powell Pioneers are the defending Class A State Champions. It was their first championship since 2010. Six of the eight teams were in last year’s field. Several industry groups are challenging a new rule from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that puts conservation on equal footing with other uses on agency-managed lands. Traditionally, companies have sought leases for various uses on BLM’s 245 million acres, including mining, logging, grazing, oil and gas drilling and recreation.
