Former union treasurer admits to using funds for personal expenses, falsifying reports
Omaha, Neb. — A Bayard man has been sentenced for four counts of falsification of annual financial reports filed by a labor union. Donald Fox, 55, will serve five weekends in jail, four years of probation, and has been ordered to pay $14,874.05 in restitution to the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 1836.

Powell hosts the 2024 Wyoming American Legion Baseball Class ‘A’ State Tournament from July 27-31. It is an eight-team, modified, double-elimination bracket. The Powell Pioneers are the defending Class A State Champions. It was their first championship since 2010. Six of the eight teams were in last year’s field. Also, thanks to a gate sponsor, there is no fee to attend the games.
Industry groups challenge BLM’s new public lands conservation rule
Several industry groups are challenging a new rule from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that puts conservation on equal footing with other uses on agency-managed lands. Traditionally, companies have sought leases for various uses on BLM’s 245 million acres, including mining, logging, grazing, oil and gas drilling and recreation. Now, under the new Public Lands Rule which went into effect in June, parties can also apply for leases to do “restoration” or “mitigation” work.
