Skyline's new CEO looks to expand the iconic Cincinnati chili brand
Running a Major League Baseball team and the region’s largest, most-ubiquitous chili chain might not seem comparable, but Skyline Chili CEO Dick Williams, who was a top Cincinnati Reds executive until 2020, sees more than a few similarities. In a way, both are viewed as a community trust.<\p> “I learned pretty quickly that there are not many jobs similar to the one I had at the Reds and the one I have at Skyline where you can be just about anywhere in town and strike up a conversation about work. People are instantly engaged,” Williams said.<\p>

Airlines are expecting record-breaking traffic for the summer — and for the July Fourth holiday — but fliers on many routes would be wise to build in some extra time for their travel plans. <\p> That's according to an analysis by The Business Journals of the latest on-time data from airline analytics company Cirium Inc. The analysis looked at routes with at least 20 flights. <\p>

Pierce described it as a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity given its location next to Union Terminal.<\p>

A Cincinnati nonprofit, IPM Food Pantry, has announced its new president and CEO.<\p> The nonprofit, which provides food relief to eastern Cincinnati and surrounding communities, is now lead by Melissa Meyer as of July 1.<\p>
Health care provider expands to Cincy after securing $12.5M in funding
A health care provider will expand to the region after receiving an eight-figure sum in funding.<\p> Cambridge, Mass.-based Heyday Health, a health care provider offering in-home, phone and video visits for older adults with Medicare and dual-eligible patients, announced June 24 it will expand its services to Cincinnati and Dayton after receiving $12.5 million in funding.<\p>
Cincinnati leaders lead launch of new $500M Ohio investment fund
Two leading business figures from Greater Cincinnati have teamed up with two of Ohio’s top venture capitalists to launch a new state-specific growth capital investment fund that aims to reach $500 million.<\p> Mike Venerable, who retired in January after seven years as CEO of locally based startup investment firm CincyTech, and Jill Meyer, former CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, are two of the four founding leadership team members for the Ohio High-Growth Investment Opportunities (O.H.I.O.) Fund. Venerable is the fund’s founding director of health care and life sciences. Meyer is chief legal officer and a founding managing director. <\p>
Publix confirms details of Florence supermarket location
Florida-based supermarket chain and Kroger rival Publix has unveiled some details for a Northern Kentucky store it bought land for earlier this year.<\p> Publix Super Markets is opening a 55,325-square-foot store in Florence at the northeast corner of U.S. Route 42 and Farmview Drive, spokesman Jared Glover confirmed to the Business Courier. The supermarket will feature an adjacent Publix Liquors that will offer beer, wine and spirits for sale. <\p>
CEO of one of Cincinnati’s largest insurance agencies steps down
Tom Cassady has stepped down as CEO after 25 years at the helm of one of Cincinnati’s largest insurance agencies.<\p> Cassady, 70, left the top spot at USI Insurance Services’ Midwest region based in Cincinnati effective July 1, but he made it clear he’s not retiring. He remains as chairman of the region and a full-time employee.<\p>

Highly anticipated OTR restaurant sets official opening
A highly anticipated Over-the-Rhine restaurant is ready to welcome guests.<\p> Wildweed will officially open July 25 in Over-the-Rhine at 1301 Walnut St. The 1,848-square-foot restaurant is a part of Cincinnati Center City Development Corp.’s (3CDC) $10.6 million Columbia Flats project. The restaurant, which signed a lease in February 2023, had originally planned to open in the fall.<\p>

CVG takes another $12 million step toward massive cargo campus
A company with connections to another firm that’s now a mainstay at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport will develop a $12 million cargo warehouse facility at CVG.<\p> F&F LLC is owned by Fred Murphy, the CEO of FEAM Aero, which has developed two aircraft maintenance facilities at CVG, and his business partner, Frank Tamanko, president of Cincinnati-based Bascon Inc. <\p>

Publix announces fourth local store location
Publix will open a fourth store in Northern Kentucky, making the region home to the largest concentration of store locations in the commonwealth. <\p> The Lakeland, Fla.-based grocer will open a 48,387-square-foot store location in Independence at the northeast corner of Harris Pike and Madison Pike/KY-17, according to a Publix media release. <\p>
