Miami University students are protesting the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza , and that makes me think back to the time when a friend asked, "What happened to us?" The current college campus protests seem eerily similar to what my friend and I remember from back in the anti-Vietnam War days. Yes, passions are inflamed. Yes, some students are seriously demonstrating and getting arrested. Classes cancelled and education disrupted. Yes to all that. But what will it all mean in the future, that is, what’ll happen? Not much. Despite the passions du jour, most of us don’t really change in any fundamental way.
