The Cincinnati Chili Olympics have arrived! 🥇

Happy Friday, Cincinnati!

You likely spent the last month or so watching the Paris Olympics. My colleagues and I, though, competed in a different prestigious competition: the inaugural Cincinnati Chili Olympics .

As journalists, we always try to find a local angle for national/international stories. So in our Paris Olympics planning meeting, the idea of creating Cincinnati-specific "sports" to compete in came up. As the head honcho of The Enquirer's TikTok – and the most competitive person in the room – I was all for it.

The pitch turned into a month-long video series in which my colleagues and I got very familiar with Cincinnati chili, competing in everything from coney speed eating to oyster cracker curling .
