    Cincinnati Reds promote pitcher Rhett Lowder to Triple-A Louisville from Chattanooga

    Rhett Lowder, the Cincinnati Reds ' first-round pick in the 2023 MLB draft, was promoted Tuesday from the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts to the Triple-A Louisville Bats.

    The Bats announced via Twitter/X that Lowder is scheduled to make his Triple-A debut Thursday.

    MLB Pipeline ranks Lowder No. 2 among the Reds' prospects , trailing recent No. 1 pick Chase Burns.

    In the month of August, Lowder has struck out 18 in 18 innings pitched, with a 1.00 ERA.

    Lowder started the season in High-A Dayton, posting a 2.49 ERA in five starts. In 16 starts this season for the Lookouts, Lowder had a 4.31 ERA with 18 walks and 77 strikeouts in 77 1/3 innings, with seven home runs allowed.
