Yelp ranks 2 Cincinnati pizza spots among the best in Midwest

Yelp recently ranked the top 100 pizza places in the Midwest, and two Cincinnati spots made the list.

IL Gusto Pizza & Pasta in Sycamore Township ranked just shy of the top 10 at No. 17. Yelpers praised the restaurant, located at 3936 E. Galbraith Road, for its garlic knots, New York-style pizzas and fresh, Italian ingredients.

Two Cities Pizza Co. also made the cut at No. 38. The restaurant, which has locations in Mason and West Chester, offers customers the best of both worlds with its New York thin crust and Chicago deep dish pizzas. Yelpers gave the joint glowing reviews for its pizza offerings, salads and choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

Yelp considered pizza joints from across the region when gathering the rankings, including restaurants from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

It then narrowed down the list by using a large concentration of reviews that included relevant keywords, and it ranked them using a number of factors , including the total volume and ratings of the reviews mentioning those keywords.

Other Ohio spots also made the list. Tyler’s Pizzeria & Bakery in Reynoldsburg, a suburb of Columbus, ranked No. 4, and In Forno Pizza in Avon, a suburb of Cleveland, claimed the No. 6 spot. Old Scratch Pizza in Dayton also made the list at No. 77.
