    The University of Cincinnati Bearcats kick off the 2024 football season Saturday afternoon at Nippert Stadium facing the Towson Tigers at 2:30.

    If this is your first time attending a home game or if you're a C-Paw veteran, here are some updated things to know.

    Can UC Bearcats football fans bring a purse or bag to Nippert Stadium in 2024?

    • The university enforces a clear-bag requirement for all athletics venues. Last season, an update was made that allows for small clutch or belt bags of a larger size. Fans will be able to bring one clear bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag or a clear bag tote no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" – AND a small clutch bag or wallet, up to 6" x 9" in size, into on-campus events.     Where can UC Bearcats football fans park on game day in 2024?

    • Fans are encouraged to review updated gameday traffic patterns from a map also on gobearcats.com. • All on-campus parking will remain cashless in 2024.• Parking on the day of each game is available on a limited basis at Eden Garage for $25.• Pre-paid parking is available at Eden Garage or Clifton lots for $23 and can be purchased on UC's ticket site. • ADA parking is available at Woodside Garage on a pre-paid basis. Please note that a state-licensed placard or license plate is required for entry.

    What are UC Bearcats football concession upgrades for 2024?

    The University of Cincinnati and Sodexo Live! announced a new partnership in May 2024. With this partnership, UC will be able to offer new concessions items at football games under the Red & Black Concessions and Red & Black Catering verticals, including:• "The Plaza" on Sheakley Lawn, a new area where fans can enjoy pregame. This includes a beer garden, cold brew coffee, snow cones, Philly cheesesteaks, and options from Cincy Q Smokehouse and Skyline Chili. There will also be an island bar serving cocktails.• More in-seat concessions options, allowing them to catch more of the action on the field.• A new student concessions area, which will feature discounted hot dogs and nachos, a burrito bowl food cart, Donato's pizza and iced coffee.• A new gyro stand by the Tangeman University Center (TUC) dock and a full-service bar at Catskeller.• Catering areas in premium seating spaces, which have been revamped to include more bars to reduce waiting time.• The Champions Club in Fifth Third Arena will be open throughout the game, offering drinks and snacks.

    • For fans who elected to receive digital tickets, UC will use a new technology called ALL-IN-1. ALL-IN-1 is a smart ticket that simplifies and declutters your digital wallet.     • UC worked during the offseason to improve Nippert Stadium audio. Daktronics repaired and re-optimized the public address sound system to provide clear, balanced audio across the entire venue.• Tagboard returns for the 2024 season as fans can post their photos on social media using #Bearcats for a chance to appear on the big screen before, during, and after each game.• Fans can keep up with scores of other college football games nationwide thanks to a new partnership with Stats Perform, which will provide up-to-the-minute score updates.• Fans can now view live closed captions on each ribbon board inside Nippert Stadium.     Gameday themes have been announced for the 2024 season. In addition to suggested colors for each home game, the University of Cincinnati announced a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Dedication of James Gamble Nippert Stadium on Nov. 9 vs. West Virginia.     When is the first radio show with UC football head coach Scott Satterfield?

    The first of the season is Tuesday, Aug. 27, and it kicks off UC voice Dan Hoard's 25th year in broadcasting.

    All shows will air live from the Original Montgomery Inn each Tuesday from 8 to 9 p.m., except for Oct. 1 and Oct. 29 due to bye weeks. Most will air on 700WLW, with some early in the season moving to 1530 WCKY and 1360 WSAI.

    In the radio booth, Hoard joins fellow University of Cincinnati Hall of Famer Jim Kelly Jr., who is entering his 37th season as the team’s color commentator. Hoard, also serves as the play-by-play voice for the Cincinnati Bengals, making him the only FBS broadcaster who doubles as an NFL team’s radio voice.

    Former UC quarterback Tony Pike returns as the sideline reporter. All pregame shows begin 60 minutes prior and feature student-athlete interviews from Mo Egger.
