When four-star basketball recruit Taylen Kinney announced he was leaving Newport to enter the Overtime Elite draft, it altered the prep hoops scene here . Kinney quickly ascended the recruiting rankings to become one of the best prospects in Northern Kentucky history , thanks in part to his dad, Chuck Kinney.

Taylen Kinney's father is the center of his support system, which has helped him become a standout basketball player and a phenomenal young man. All of Kinney's humility, confidence and willingness to work hard was instilled by his dad .
