Are you in the midst of planning a golf trip but don't know where to go? A recent study suggests that Cincinnati is one of your best options.

The study, conducted by luxury golf apparel brand Galvin Green , analyzed the most populous cities in the country and the Queen City emerged as the fifth best, making it the highest-ranking Midwest city and better than any city in Florida.

Eleven metric categories were used to determine the ideal destination for a golf vacation. Typical categories included the number of golf courses – including how many are municipal, public and private − the average TripAdvisor rating of all courses, and the average year-round temperature and rainfall.

However, the study also took into consideration the cost of the cities' amenities, including average hotel prices and the cost of food and alcoholic drinks.

Cincinnati was solid on most fronts, as there are 37 courses in the city, according to Golflink . Those courses have an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor, the study shows, much higher than the 3.95 average across other cities.

Some of the most popular golf courses in Cincinnati include Cincinnati Country Club, Western Hills Country Club and California Golf Course, according to Google Reviews.

Additionally, hotel costs in Cincinnati are $124 on average, which is cheaper than the $135.24 average across all other cities.

The city's only weak points were its climate and rainfall, with an average temperature and rainfall hovering around 50 degrees and 40 inches, respectively.

Scottsdale, Arizona claimed the No. 1 spot in Galvin Green's rankings. Cincinnati was also beat out by Las Vegas, Nevada, Savannah, Georgia, and Tucson, Arizona. A few other Midwest cities cracked the top 10, with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania taking the No. 6 spot, Akron, Ohio taking the No. 7 spot and Fort Wayne, Indiana taking the No. 8 spot.

Arizona made the most appearances in the top 20, with four cities from the Grand Canyon State making the list.
