NEW YORK – Cincinnati Reds center fielder TJ Friedl left Saturday’s game against the New York Mets in the seventh inning after experiencing shortness of breath and getting checked by the team trainer.

He left the stadium for a local hospital soon after the game for precautionary tests, and the team reported the tests ruled out any serious issues. He was discharged later Saturday night.

Friedl, who hit a two-run homer in Friday’s 10-inning loss, singled in three at-bats Saturday.

He struck out in the top of the seventh and was replaced in the lineup by Rece Hinds, who took over in right, with right fielder Jake Fraley finishing the game in center.
