The 2024 regular season just started, but football fans are already looking ahead to the NFL's annual championship game, the ever-so-popular Super Bowl .
Like in past years, the American tradition filled with food, football, commercials and a star-studded halftime show takes place in February.

Super Bowl 59 will be played Feb. 9, 2025, between two yet-to-be-decided teams: the playoff winners from the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).
Last year, Super Bowl 58 was between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, with the Chiefs winning 25-22.
The game will broadcast on Fox this year.

Super Bowl 59 will be played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the venue typically home to the New Orleans Saints. This will be the 11th time the Super Bowl has been held in New Orleans, since the Saints became an NFL franchise in 1967, per the team's website .

Kendrick Lamar, a 17-time Grammy-winning rapper, will headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show . According to USA TODAY , Lamar shared the news Sunday in a YouTube video that showed him on a football field in front of a giant American flag.
"My name is Kendrick Lamar, and I'll be performing at Super Bowl LIX," he says in the clip. "Will you be pulling up? I hope so."
Roc Nation, Apple Music and the NFL confirmed the news in a news release, and the NFL shared a promotional poster on social media that showed Lamar sitting on a football field.
"Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date," Lamar said in a statement on Sunday. "And I'll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one."
Who is Kendrick Lamar?
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is a Grammy award-winning rapper and songwriter from Compton, California. Lamar, 37, was named the "greatest rapper of his generation" by The New York Times in 2022 . Lamar was also the first rapper and non-classical or jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for music in 2018.
Seth Dudowsky, NFL's head of music, noted that "Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar," adding, "Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop."
Lamar previously performed during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show as part of a star-studded lineup that also included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent.
The Super Bowl 59 announcement comes amid a big year for Lamar, who has been making headlines for a high-profile feud with Canadian-American rapper Drake . The two rappers released a series of back-and-forth diss tracks this year, including Lamar's "Not Like Us," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart in May. The song was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards , taking place Wednesday.
