Following complaints for omitting a toy from a recent limited-edition Happy Meal , McDonald's is catching more flak online for its Boo Bucket designs this year.

    Here is what's happening.

McDonald's Boo Buckets designs for 2024

Food reviewer and influencer snackolator shared the Boo Bucket designs for 2024 in a recent Instagram post . They say the designs are a whole new look from the past few years. However, they admit the image was shared by a McDonald's in another country, so the U.S. version could be different.

Even though the buckets don't hit the feelings of nostalgia like previous years, Snackolator says they like the monster designs and think the golden arches on the handle are cute. But their commenters on the post disagree.

What commenters, social media have to say about the Boo Bucket designs

"I think you all misunderstood why we liked the boo buckets ... We like the nostalgia," said nattymcdee in a comment.

    Other commenters agree.

"I miss the old iconic ones," gothic___girly__ wrote.

"Pass— such weird designs," snacktimeletsgo posted.

Over on X (formerly Twitter), the feelings are much the same.

McDonald's Halloween Boo Buckets 2024 release date

While an official release date from McDonald's has yet to be announced, snackolator says the buckets are usually out about two weeks before Halloween. So, expect them around Oct. 14, or thereabouts.
