McDonald's unveils collaboration with Genshin Impact with in-game rewards. What to know

McDonald's on Tuesday lifted the lid on its collaboration with video game Genshin Impact that it began teasing on social media Monday.

Here's what you can earn.

McDonald's collab with Genshin Impact offers in-game rewards with purchase

On Tuesday, Genshin Impact's official X account posted that the deal unlocks exclusive meals with in-game rewards.

McDonald's official X account detailed the rewards being offered with purchase.

Starting Sept. 17, an apple pie, when purchased through the McDonald's app , will unlock the following in Genshin Impact:

• Custom Recipe + Golden Apple Pastry (x3)
• Primogems (x40)
• Hero's Wit (x2)
• Mora (x20,000)
• Mystic Enhancement Ore (x4)

Likewise, a purchase of a McCrispy Deluxe Combo Meal through the app will unlock:

• Exclusive Wind Glider
• Custom Namecard

McDonald's, Genshin Impact post cryptic messages on X, formerly Twitter

On Monday, the official accounts for both tweeted images were teasing the team up.

McDonald's posted ASCII art of game characters with the message: "daily commission: text ‘traveler’ to +1 (707) 932-4826 to guess the next quest." According to Dextero , which reports on video game news, the terms "daily commission" and "traveler" are familiar to Genshin players, and the characters in the McDonald's tweet are slimes.

On Genshin's side, the account tweeted: "A mysterious note of unknown origin. All that's on it are some strange symbols..." along with an image of the symbols.

Dextero reports that game players were quick to crack the puzzle. The symbols were identified as, from left:

• Mora
• Cecilia
• Dandelion Seeds
• Onigiri
• Noctilucous Jade
• Apple
• Lakelight Lily
• Dandelion Seeds
• Silk Flower

And the first letter of each item spells out McDonald's.
