Joe Burrow laughs off the viral water bottle video concerning fans about his wrist

Joe Burrow doesn't seem worried about the wrist injury that ended his 2023 season , nor the viral video of him picking up a water bottle.

When asked during his press conference Wednesday , following the Cincinnati Bengals ' 16-10 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 1 , whether his wrist prevented him from making throws he has made in the past, Burrow said, "No, absolutely not."

And he hadn't seen the water bottle video, which showed Burrow on the bench Sunday picking up a bottle so he could take a drink of water. Fans on social media felt he picked it up oddly, potentially due to discomfort from his previously injured wrist.

"I picked it up weird?" he said while making a confused face followed by a laugh.

"I don't know, I drink water. I can't say I've seen that or know what anybody's talking about," the QB added.

Burrow later said it's always tough coming back from injury after not playing for an extended period of time.

"You're not quite sure how it's going to feel," he said. "That's part of it. Week 1, nobody's panicking. ... We got another opportunity on Sunday, and we've got 15 more opportunities after that to go and get better and show what we're all about."

The Bengals , 0-1, look to bounce back on the road against the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs at 4:25 p.m. EST Sunday.
