    Sheldon Rankins, Bengals defensive tackle, leaves NFL Week 2 game vs Chiefs with injury

    Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins suffered an apparent injury during the third quarter of the Cincinnati Bengals ' NFL Week 2 game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

    Rankins , in his first season with the Bengals, stayed down on the field at the end of the play. Rankins returned to the game, but remained down at the end of a fourth-quarter play and was again attended to by the training staff.

    Rankins went to the locker room with 6:57 left in the game. The Bengals declared Rankins out late in the fourth quarter.

    Rankins was replaced by Zach Carter as he was examined by trainers on the sideline.

    The Chiefs scored a touchdown on the following play, and took their first lead of the game.

    The Bengals' lost starting defensive tackle BJ Hill to a hamstring injury during the first half.
