Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Mike Hilton suffered an apparent leg injury during the first quarter of the NFL Week 4 game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.

Hilton went down in the end zone as Carolina's Chuba Hubbard ran three yards for a first down. Hilton was helped off the field by the Bengals' training staff.

He appeared to be rolled up on at the end of the play. He was replaced by Josh Newton.

Hilton went to the blue medical tent for evaluation. He returned to the Bengals' sideline a short time later, and returned to the game on Carolina's next possession.

Hilton is in his eighth NFL season, fourth with the Bengals.
