    Cincinnati weather: 3,000 power outages remain Monday morning; rain to continue

    The number of households still without power in the Cincinnati area has decreased to roughly 3,000 Monday morning, according to the Duke Energy Outage Map .

    The most affected areas include Bond Hill, College Hill, Finneytown, Summerside, Bethel, Amelia, Day Heights, and Springboro.

    Scattered showers will continue this week in Greater Cincinnati bringing short-term drought relief to the region.

    According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington , a combination of drizzle and isolated shower activity is expected around the region on Monday. Fog will also develop in areas south of the shower activity.

    Cloudy conditions will be in place for much of the day. Showers will increase and become scattered Monday afternoon into the early evening hours. Some thunder cannot be ruled out.

    Precipitation chances will decrease overnight. Patchy areas of dense fog will be possible tonight into Tuesday morning, per a hazardous weather outlook.

    Rain chances and potentially an isolated thunderstorm will return Tuesday morning and afternoon. Winds will also pick up into the evening hours.

    A cold front is forecast to move through the region Tuesday night through Thursday. There will be scattered showers and some thunder possible.

    A warming trend will occur with above-normal temperatures returning Thursday. Precipitation chances look limited heading into the weekend.

    Monday: Patchy drizzle with a chance of showers before 9 a.m., then scattered showers, mainly after noon. Patchy dense fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 76. Light east wind. The chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

    Monday night: Isolated showers before 10 p.m. Patchy dense fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Calm wind. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

    Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. Areas of dense fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming northwest at 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 53. North wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 73. Light north wind.

    Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 50.

    Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

    Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

    Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

    Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 77.
