The massively popular video game Fortnite will likely kick off the month of Halloween with its annual Fortnitemares gaming event, where players can access Halloween-themed challenges, including the massively popular Battle Royale, where users compete to be the last one standing.

Fortnitemares 2024 is expected to contain Spooktober-inspired skins, weapons, and even a rumored crossover with the horror-movie franchise "Saw," along with some other spooky surprises. Fortnite is best known for its flagship game Battle Royale, where gamers try to eliminate the other 99 other players on an island until they're the final player remaining.

While there's no official start date announced yet, the annual Halloween event tends to commence around mid-October, GameRant reports.

Hypex , a Fortnite content creator and leaker, indicated that the latest Fortnitemares installment could start on October 15, based on recent leaks.

In addition to a potential "Saw" collaboration (according to Sp o rts Illustrated ), Fortnitemares fans may also see "Friday the 13th" as well as Disney villains added to this year's battle Royale. New quests and map changes are also to be expected with the launch.

How long has Fortnite been launching Fortnitemares updates?

Described as "one of the biggest Halloween celebrations in gaming," by GameRant, Fortnitemares has been a popular gaming experience for fans since it debuted in 2017. Every year, there are new rewards and special challenges.

Fortnite's Battle Royale is a popular genre of online multiplayer gameplay that features colorful graphics, customizable skins, and funky dance moves. The game soared to instant success with hundreds of millions of registered users and counting, and the company that owns Fortnite (Epic Games) is reportedly valued at over $30 billion.

The in-game perks don't end there. In Fortnite's vi r tual concerts , past celebrity appearances have included Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and Billie Eilish, who headlined the events for fans to enjoy.

Battle Royale is free to play on most devices , including PS5, Xbox and PC.
