For the fourth consecutive year, there were no Cincinnati Reds among the 30 National League Gold Glove finalists announced Tuesday.

The Reds haven't had a Gold Glove finalist since catcher Tucker Barnhart in 2020. Barnhart won the award that year.

Shogo Akiyama also was a finalist in 2020 in left field.

Many Reds fans consider TJ Friedl to be among the top defensive outfielders in the league. But injuries limited Friedl to just 85 games this past season.

Former University of Cincinnati Bearcats standout Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs is among NL Gold Glove finalists in left field.
