National Baseball Hall of Famer and former Cincinnati Reds and Moeller High School standout Ken Griffey Jr. and his father, Reds Hall of Famer and former Big Red Machine star Ken Griffey Sr., are expected to be in attendance Tuesday night for the Los Angeles Lakers ' first game of the season to watch NBA legend LeBron James play with his son, Bronny, for the first time in an NBA regular-season game, according to a tweet Sunday from former Reds general manager Jim Bowden .

"We made history in the MLB and now we get to watch history in the NBA," Junior said, per Bowden's tweet.

The Lakers are scheduled to host the Minnesota Timberwolves at 10 p.m. Eastern, on TNT.

Junior said in a 2022 video from Sporting News that if LeBron and Bronny ever played together in a game, Junior and his dad would be there.

"When that happens, I'm going to be there. I'm going to take my dad to the game," Junior said in 2022. "We're actually gonna go to the game. LeBron being a Nike guy. I'm a Nike guy. I'm gonna make sure I'm there at that game. And I think it's important that we're all there in celebrating somebody else's success. ... When you're in sports, you don't celebrate you. You celebrate other people. And that's the beauty of sports. And we're gonna celebrate hopefully in a couple of years LeBron and Bronny playing together."

"One of my favorite people in the world!!" LeBron tweeted in 2022 . "Love you kid! Thank you for love and support from the first day I stepped on the scene."
