WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — The Bears split the three-game set against Cincinnati after a hot start at the plate with Kobe Andrade coming in for the save to clinch an 8-6 win over the Bearcats.

Hunter Teplanszky got Baylor on the board early with a three-run bomb in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead, his second home run of the season.

A 2-RBI double from Enzo Apodaca extended the Baylor lead to 5-1 in the fourth inning. The Bears would take as much as a six-run lead heading into the eighth inning after tacking on three more runs.

A grand slam from Cincinnati’s Josh Kross in the top of the eighth pulled the Bearcats within two but 1.2 innings pitched, no hits, no earned runs and two strikeouts from Andrade sealed the win.

Baylor heads into the rubber match and a potential critical series win in game three on Saturday, March 30th at 1:00 p.m.
