An Over-the-Rhine attraction is rolling out a new app to help make its mission to preserve and share Cincinnati’s brewing history even easier.

The nonprofit Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation created and developed the app as an extension of the Brewing Heritage Trail, which features markers throughout OTR that allow people to discover historic buildings, brewing sites, public art and more related to Cincinnati’s brewing history. The free app rolls out on Saturday, June 8 for both iPhone and Android users and includes self-guided tours of the historic breweries, famous saloons and beer-inspired murals.

Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation says the app is the first of its kind for the area and will serve as a great resource for those wanting to know more about the architecture and the city that was built on beer. Along with the self-guided tours, users can also hear from knowledgeable historians who provide in-depth details of OTR’s historic Brewery District and a calendar of upcoming community events like Bockfest, as well as Brewery District members-only exclusives. The app has more information on how to become a member.

There will be an app launch party outside Race Street Station bar at Findlay Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests who download the app can receive beer discounts and take part in giveaway opportunities.

You can download the app on Apple here or Google Play here .
