Ohio's best fried chicken place is right here in Cincinnati, according to Yelp

Who needs Kentucky Fried Chicken or Popeyes when this Greater Cincinnati restaurant has the best finger-lickin' fried chicken in the state?

Yelp released a list of the best fried chicken spots in every state to celebrate National Fried Chicken Day, which took place July 6. CM Chicken - Korean Fried Chicken in Liberty Township earned the title for the best fried chicken in Ohio.

"Thank you so much for all of our amazing customers and the feedback you all provide," the restaurant posted on Facebook.

CM Chicken, or Choong Man Chicken, is a Korean fried chicken franchise that started in South Korea in 2009. The franchise expanded to the United States in 2017 and currently has 50 locations nationwide.

The restaurant, which has a local Yelp rating of 4.8 stars, is known for its signature Tikkudak chicken, which is fried and oven-grilled. It's also available in a variety of sauces, including garlic parmesan, red hot pepper, curry, garlic soy and more.

The local restaurant also offers regular fried chicken wings, tenders, sandwiches, Korean hot dogs, ramen, fried dumplings, cauliflower wings, fried shrimp and more. CM Chicken offers a selection of soju cocktails, desserts, domestic, imported and craft beer, wine and soda.

To make the list, restaurants must have been featured in the "chicken shop" category on Yelp, have a passing health score and have several five-star Elite reviews. Only one business was included on the list for each state featured. Only states with available data were mentioned.
