Shedeur Sanders, QB Sr. Colorado: He might be brash, and he might be polarizing, but he’s one of the toughest quarterbacks in college football and he’s about to crank up another amazing season. Despite being beaten up behind an awful line, he threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns with three scores, connecting on 69% of his throws.

Dontay Corleone, DT Jr. Cincinnati: Colorado’s Travis Hunter is the best all-around player in the Big 12 - he’s great at receiver and strong at corner - but Corleone is the best defender in the conference.

He’s trying to get through a scary blood clotting issue, but assuming all is okay and hoping he's fine by the time the season starts, he’ll once again be a special combination of toughness as an anchor and interior playmaking ability.
