As of Sunday night, Cincinnati Bengals tackle Amarius Mims is the lone first-round pick from this year's draft class to not have signed his rookie contract.

Mims, selected with the No. 18 overall pick in the NFL draft this year out of the University of Georgia, can’t participate in any training camp practices until he signs his deal. The Bengals start training camp practice on Wednesday.

The Bengals had their rookies report to training camp on July 20 and that’s why it’s noteworthy that Mims has yet to sign his contract. At this point, it remains unclear why Mims has yet to sign his rookie deal.

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Dallas Turner, taken a pick before Mims, was the only other rookie to not have his deal prior to the weekend. Turner put pen to paper with the Vikings on Sunday afternoon.

Mims played in eight games during his final season due to an ankle injury. During the 2022 season, Mims started 14 games at right tackle. The 6-foot-8, 340 pounder is expected to compete with veteran tackle Trent Brown for the starting job at right tackle.
