    Cincinnati weather: Summer rain and heat to move through Ohio Valley region this week

    Showers and thunderstorms will hit Greater Cincinnati this week, as a cold front is forecast to move into the region starting Wednesday.

    According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington , a few isolated storms may occur on Monday. Expect temperatures in the low 80s and light winds by late afternoon.

    An increase in showers is likely to occur late Tuesday afternoon across our far southern zones. Otherwise, expect to see only a few widely scattered showers and storms during peak heating hours. Tuesday's highs will reach the mid-80s.

    A cold front will push into the area Wednesday afternoon, resulting in another round of showers and thunderstorms. After a brief break in precipitation Wednesday night, showers and thunderstorms should increase coverage again by Thursday.

    High pressure and southerly winds will build in for the end of the week, resulting in above-normal temperatures.

    Monday: Showers and thunderstorms before noon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. High near 84. Light north wind. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Monday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Calm wind. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

    Tuesday : A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind. The chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Tuesday night: There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 67. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. The chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Wednesday : A slight chance of showers between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming southwest at 5 to 9 mph in the morning. The chance of precipitation is 20%.
