Sam Hubbard was the subject of the first injury scare during Cincinnati Bengals training camp.

After rushing quarterback Joe Burrow from his standard left defensive end position during practice Sunday afternoon, Hubbard walked himself off the field and took a cart back inside Paycor Stadium. The 29-year old ended up getting an MRI for his knee that reportedly showed no major concerns.

It turns out that those reports were true, and Hubbard isn't the only pass rusher who's dealing with an injury.

Updates on Bengals defensive ends Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson

Head coach Zac Taylor told media members Monday afternoon that Hubbard will be "day-to-day" after avoiding a major injury on Sunday.

"Sam will be kind of day to day right now," Taylor said. "Just had a little issue yesterday. Obviously wasn't anything significant, and so he'll just be limited or out for a couple days this week, not yet, sure."

Taylor is taking precautions with both Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson, who incurred an injury of his own during the team's first practice last week.

"Same for Trey," Taylor said comparing Hubbard's status to Hendrickson's. "Trey's been day to day since something that popped up day one in practice when he got run into. So we just continue to take him day to day, too."

Hubbard appeared to injure his knee when he collided with tight end Mike Gesicki Sunday afternoon.

Hubbard reportedly walked off the field under his own power and looked ready to come back before he was taken into the stadium for an MRI.

It's possible that Hubbard could practice or play right now if absolutely needed, but with it still being incredibly early in camp, he'll have plenty of rest this week to get right.

Hendrickson has been present at the past few practices, but is also being held back to give him needed rest. One of the oldest starters on the defense, keeping Hendrickson fresh and healthy throughout camp will help him be ready for Week 1 in September.

Hendrickson requested a trade earlier in the offseason but was a participant during voluntary workouts in May . This news seems to confirm he's not conducting a "hold in" like Ja'Marr Chase appears to be doing .
