With six days to go before its first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cincinnati Bengals released its first depth chart for the 2024 season. The season is nearly here!

As much fun as it would be to dissect the depth chart, it is likely nowhere close to what the Week 1 lineup will feature aside from a few key roles.

On offense, Joe Burrow is QB1, Jake Browning QB2. Those are obvious. The rest of the offense could be different. As of now, free-agent acquisition Zack Moss is ahead of second-year back, Chase Brown . However, Brown has been taking the brunt of snaps with the first team and has shown play-making ability.

At receiver, Ja'Marr Chase , Tee Higgins , and Trenton Irwin are at the top. Chase and Higgins are easily WR1 and WR2 and are one of the best duos in the NFL. That WR3 slot is going to be interesting. Irwin has shown he's a reliable outlet and Burrow clearly trusts him. Rookie Jermaine Burton and Andrei Iosivas have been having incredibly strong camps to this point and either could be the go-to WR2.

On the offensive line, only the right tackle has been an area of interest this summer. Trent Brown was just activated from the Active/Non-Football Injury list and is slotted at the top of the position. Amarius Mims , however, has been taking every snap and has been looking good. He has been preparing for the season expecting to be the starter as it.

The defense seems pretty straightforward at this point. Naturally, Cam Sample is not going to be in the second line behind Sam Hubbard due to his torn Achilles, so Myles Murphy will need to step up soon.

As of now, it looks like Cam Taylor-Britt , DJ Turner (not Dax Hill ), and Mike Hilton are the top three corners. At safety, it's probably going to be fluid throughout the year. Vonn Bell , Jordan Battle , and Geno Stone are the leaders in the room with rookie Daijahn Anthony having a strong camp thus far.

It is interesting that in this preseason depth chart, there are no rookies expected to start. With just under five weeks to go until Week 1, that, along with a number of other things, could certainly change.
