4-H Club honors veterans
In preparation for Memorial Day, members of the Pickaway Shooting Sports 4-H Club spent Saturday placing American flags on the graves of veterans buried in Forest Cemetery. More than 1,300 veterans, with many graves dating back longer than two centuries, are buried in the cemetery. While part of the 52-member club placed flags on graves throughout the 50-acre cemetery, others took on the task of cleaning some of the older veteran monuments. The 4-H club has been involved in placing flags on the graves for the past several years. The Soldiers Monumental Association of Pickaway County supplied the 4-H members and their advisors with flags, brushes and cleaning solutions.
Pick. Co. Public Health receives grant
Circleville — Pickaway County Public Health is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Drive to Succeed grant to fund driver’s education scholarships for local teenagers. This initiative aims to provide young drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the roads safely while also easing the financial burden associated with obtaining a driver’s license. PCPH received $61,560 in grant funding for scholarships to be awarded between July of 2024 and June of 2026. ...

Fleet management program for Circleville being considered
During the May 13th City Council Finance Committee meeting, a representative of Enterprise Fleet Management introduced an Open-End Leasing program that could save the city $523,000 over ten years. An open-end lease is also called a “finance lease,” which means that the program is a method of financing the acquisition of the assets. It is not a rental program. Lexi Heidish, assistant director of P3 — Pickaway Progress Partnership — provided an update on development in Pickaway County to Sunrise Rotary club members May 7. Heidish, who has been with P3 since November, cited recent accomplishments by the non-profit corporation, including working to keep current employers in the county and assist them with growth & expansion plans; securing new investment like the purchase by Amazon Web Services of 234 acres for a data center; and the addition of a distribution center by Cardinal Health that will create 100 jobs at the Rickenbacker area.
