33 arrested at George Washington University as DC mayor’s congressional hearing is canceled WASHINGTON (AP) — The House oversight committee has canceled a hearing with the Washington, D.C., mayor over a university encampment shortly after 33 protesters were arrested. Police have been clearing a pro-Palestinian tent encampment at George Washington University since dozens of protesters left the site and marched to President Ellen Granberg’s home. Logan Elm FFA Equine team earns top 10 at States
A huge part of the Future Farmers of America is the competitions, these competitions allow members of the FFA to experience and participate in agriculture careers they are interested in. The Logan Elm chapter of the FFA is proud to honor our 2024 equine team for their amazing job at the Ohio State Equine Career Development competition. They earned 2nd place out of 106 equine teams. Patrol plans OVI checkpoint this week
The Circleville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be conducting a OVI checkpoint to deter and intercept impaired drivers this week. On the day prior to the checkpoint, the county where it will take place will be announced, and the location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint. If you plan to consume alcohol, please use a designated driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired. Operational support for the sobriety checkpoint will be provided by local law enforcement and safety partners.

ATHENS — Students for Justice in Palestine organized a march to call attention to current events in the Middle East and to send a message to Ohio University to divest from Israel. A Circleville man was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly stabbed someone in Vinton County. Vinton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stabbing around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Wyman Park in McArthur. Circleville PD reports shots fired at Man Street Pub
Circleville Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred about 3 a.m. Sunday at the Main Street Pub. Officers discovered an unknown male fired shots into the front and rear of the building located at 207 West Main Street, according to a CPD social media post. Presently, CPD is attempting to identify the male. If anyone has any information about the shooting or can help identify the male, please contact the Circleville Police Department at 740-474-8888.
