Claire Jennings, the Regional Project Manager at Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), presented at the Circleville Noon Rotary with insights into COTA’s innovative mobility endeavors.

During the meeting March 21 Jennings shed light on the forthcoming mobility center in Rickenbacker International Airport, which promises to forge vital connections with regional transit systems like Pickaway County Community Action (PICCA).

The $24.3 million project is aimed at boosting economic development in the area that currently employs about 38,000 people in the region. The mobility center aims to facilitate access to essential services such as childcare, workforce development, training, and healthcare for individuals working in and around the Rickenbacker vicinity and is slated to open in 2025.

Employees in the Rickenbacker Area can now catch a ride from PICCA transportation stops in Circleville and Ashville to the Rickenbacker Area beginning April 1. Call (740) 474-8835 for more information.

Additionally, attendees gained valuable insights into COTA’s ambitious Central Ohio transportation initiative. Dubbed LinkUS, this comprehensive plan encompasses the introduction of five new Bus Rapid Transit lines. Impressively, COTA is amplifying its service hours by a staggering 45%, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for commuters.
