PICCA Transit starts free shuttle to Rickenbacker area

Pickaway County Community Action (PICCA) is offering a free shuttle service to take people to and from jobs in the Rickenbacker area. The Rickenbacker Shuttle runs Monday through Friday with morning and afternoon routes.

State funding for the project will run through the end of 2024, although PICCA is working to secure funds to continue the service into 2025 and beyond, Executive Director Becky Hammond said.

“We are proud to offer this free service to the residents of Pickaway County,” she said. “We aspire to make it permanent.”

Bus stops are located at PICCA’s Circleville headquarters at 469 Ohio Street, the Pickaway County Library at 1160 N. Court St., and at the PICCA Ashville Neighborhood Center at 97 Miller Ave. (See schedule below.) PICCA buses are wheelchair accessible.

PICCA buses transport riders to and from a Marathon Service Station on Alum Creek Drive near Rickenbacker International Airport, where passengers can take shuttles operated by the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) or the Groveport Rickenbacker Employee Access Transit (GREAT) to get to area businesses and warehouses.

"We are excited to offer this free service, which will help commuters conveniently connect to other transit options in the Rickenbacker Area, such as COTA and the GREAT connector. We hope this service will help Pickaway County residents find expanded employment options.”
