Pickaway Progress Partnership (P3) hosted members of Circleville City Council and administration on a tour of areas experiencing development across Pickaway County.

With help and coordination from Sheri Theis, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, and Barry Keller, Council President, the tour highlighted the strides made in and around Circleville and across Pickaway County. The tour stops highlighted the collaborative efforts of community stakeholders along with our business, state, and federal partners.

Tim Colburn, Executive Director of P3, emphasized the significance of such collaboration.

"There are great things happening in Circleville and Pickaway County. Collaboration has positively affected our community and our continued focus will drive future results," he said.

The tour served as a demonstration of the use of resources and incentives available to the City. Participants saw firsthand the tangible outcomes of strategic planning, highlighting the city's potential for further development.

One stop included Sofidel, where considerable progress has been made on the expansion.

Governor Mike DeWine and other local leaders used shiny shovels to turn over some dirt at a ceremonial groundbreaking in March for the company’s $185 million expansion project that promises to add an additional 100+ more employees to the plant’s workforce, estimated to be around 500 Ohioans.

"The sight of 'dirt moving' symbolized not just construction but the sign of economic growth and job creation within the community," Colburn said.

Colburn said Pickaway County has a bright future.

"There are opportunities for investment and revitalization of dormant industrial manufacturing sites, such as the RCA Thomson and General Electric buildings. By leveraging the efforts of stakeholders and using Circleville’s Strategic Plan, we can capitalize on the full potential of these sites and more," he said.
