Megan Bella, Resident Manager at The Wyngate Senior Living Community, provided information about options for senior citizens when they are ready for a retirement home.

“Today, what I would love for you to take away is the kind of people that we are at Wyngate because I think that’s truly what makes us special. Our core values are hospitality, customer service, a homelike environment and invisible healthcare,” she said at the Circleville Noon Rotary Club meeting on Thursday at the Watt Street Tavern.

Bella explained the owner came from “the hollers of West Virginia” and so, not surprisingly, all thirteen of their facilities are in rural settings.

“Our target audience are Buick driving, Bob Evans eating Americana kind of people,” she explained.

The Wyngate has two facilities, an Independent Living facility where the residents are free to come and go as they please, and an Assisted Living facility that provides care for those who can no longer live by themselves.

In the Assisted Living facility, the cost is between $2,500 to $3,500 per month. It includes all the residents’ food, utilities, Wi-Fi, and snow removal. The Assisted Living facility costs between $5,000 to $8,500 per month as it depends on how much care the resident needs.

Bella explained that The Wyngate is a private pay facility.

“Until you qualify for Medicaid, you’re private pay anyways,” she said. “We do help facilitate moving our residents into a facility that accepts Medicaid when the time comes.”

Bella was very enthusiastic about the activities program they have for their residents, for example, taking a trip to Oglebay to see their light display. She explained that the residents living in the Independent Living facility are very active and that there is one group of men who like to go to outside restaurants on occasion. That group is called “Romeo” — Retired Old Men Eating Out.

During the question-and-answer portion, someone asked if there was a similar program for the women and what it was named.

    Megan replied, “Juliet!”
