Woman arrested after defecating, spitting on deputies after hit and run

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to Constable Mark Herman, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to a vehicle crash on the 25700 block of the Hardy Toll Road on June 7, 2024. The at-fault driver, Andrea Bernard, fled on foot but was quickly detained and displayed several signs of intoxication.

While being detained, Bernard struck, kicked, spit, and defecated on deputies. During her transport to the Harris County Jail for a blood warrant, she attempted to bribe a deputy with $15,000 for her release.

"Andrea Bernard was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated, Harassment of Public Servant, Bribery, and two counts of Failure to Stop and Render Aid. Her total bond was set at $18,100 out of the 486th District Court," stated Constable Mark Herman.
