    Sheriff: Good Samaritans from Yong-In Dojo Tae Kwo Do Stop Assault

    (HOUSTON, TEXAS) June 19, 2024 - According to Ed Gonzalez, Harris County Sheriff, deputies from HCSO D4 Patrol responded to a disturbance at the 6800 block of Fry Road. Upon arrival, they found instructors from the Yong-In Tae Kwon Do dojo restraining a male suspect.

    Investigation revealed that the dojo instructors were alerted by yelling from a neighboring location. Upon investigating, they witnessed a male attempting to sexually assault a female. The instructors intervened, successfully pulling the female away from the attacker. The suspect then attempted to assault the instructors, but they managed to subdue him using their training and discipline.

    Charges for attempted sexual assault and unlawful detention were filed on behalf of the survivor, and assault charges were filed on behalf of the instructors.

    Sheriff Gonzalez commended the quick action and bravery of the Yong-In dojo instructors in protecting others and preventing further harm.
