Suspect Sought in September 2023 Fatal Shooting at 9920 Porto Rico Road

HOUSTON, TX – According to a press release, Houston police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Alberto Navez-Ortiz at 9920 Porto Rico Road on September 27, 2023, around 4:30 p.m.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 17 to 19 years old. A surveillance photo of the suspect is below.

Houston police responded to the scene and found Navez-Ortiz unresponsive in the driver's seat of a pickup truck. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Witnesses reported that three to four unknown males fled the scene in a gray, four-door sedan of an unknown make or model.
