Man Charged with Assaulting Peace Officer Using Body Camera in Harris County

HOUSTON, TX – According to Case No. 188649401010-3 filed in Harris County District Court, Jeison Mariano Bonilla was arrested on September 25, 2024, and charged with assaulting a peace officer. Bonilla is accused of intentionally causing bodily injury to a Houston Police Department officer by striking the officer with his hand and a body-worn camera while the officer was lawfully discharging official duties.

Bonilla's arrest occurred around 12:00 a.m., and he is scheduled for his first court appearance on September 27, 2024, in Harris County District Court No. 488. His bond was set at $5,000. Bonilla has not yet posted bond.
