A well-liked Kansas City chef in the Brookside area was killed near his restaurant. Two suspects were arrested.

The chef was 44-year-old Shaun Brady. He was just taking out the trash. Several people were loitering in the back around parked cars.

Brady confronted these people which escalated into a violent episode leaving Brady shot and killed. Another unnecessary shooting. If the community and restaurant fans are livid, they have a right to be.

According to The Kansas City Star, Brady was shot and killed around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28.

KMBC reported yesterday "... two male juvenile suspects were taken into custody within an hour of the deadly shooting. They are being held pending further investigation."

Today, KCUR reported one of the juveniles was charged with second-degree murder and attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

    Brady & Fox

Brady & Fox is an Irish restaurant and lounge at 751 East 63rd Street. It was established by Shaun Brady and Graham "Fox" Harris.

A lot of support has poured out on the venue's Facebook page, Brady's KC. This social media site indicates a trust fund has been set up for Shaun's family and will be shared when available. For obvious reasons, the restaurant is temporarily closed.

Known as an Irish gentleman, family man, and hard worker, Shaun Brady's legacy will live on.

Thanks for reading, and your thoughts and prayers for Shaun Brady's family & friends.
