United Way’s Project 10 slated for Aug. 8 in Sequim
Local women are encouraged to clean out their closets and refresh their wardrobes with United Way of Clallam County’s Project 10 Clothing Swap, set for early August. The event — scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Guy Cole Event Center, 144 N. Blake Ave. — aims to bring women together from all walks of life to embrace their personal style and body confidence, organizers say, while helping women access the professional clothing they need to enter or re-enter the workforce.
Milestone: School retirees pick Peacock for annual honor
The Clallam County School Retirees’ Association (CCSRA) recently awarded their 2024 Community Service Award honor to Dan Peacock. Peacock helps the CCSRA with the Port Angeles School District backpack event at Jefferson Elementary School and with the organization’s book drive that gave out more than 800-plus books this year to Sequim Head Start, Port Angeles First Step and the Crescent School District.
