As of Feb. 23, Chilton County youth Corleigha Lichelle Martin, age 14, is still considered actively missing. Martin left her residence on County Road 9 in Clanton on Feb. 16. She was last seen later that day at the Clanton Chevron (201 Seventh St. S, Clanton) looking for a ride.

She is a black female, 5 feet 6 inches in height and approximately 115 lbs. She has shoulder-length hair with bangs and wears dark-framed eyeglasses. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black plants and carrying a black purse. Her direction of travel is unknown at this time.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) currently requires that a missing child must meet certain criteria to be reported as an Amber Alert. Because Martin left of her own volition and was not abducted, her case does not constitute an Amber Alert.

“This is currently under investigation,” said Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon. “We want to find Miss Martin safe. If anyone has any information, please contact the Sheriff’s Office.”

To report information or a sighting of Martin, contact the Chilton County Sheriff’s Department at 205-755-4698.
