Clarence, N.Y. (WBEN)- The Town of Clarence is back in action with their "Fireworks in The Park" event on Monday after severe thunderstorms canceled it over the weekend.

The main event, which is presented by Clarence Rotary Club Foundation, will be held at the Clarence Main Street Town Park, from 5 p.m. EST until dusk, or until the fireworks begin to take off.

Town Supervisor Patrick Casilio explained why the town decided to move the event to Monday.

"We felt in the safety for the people holding the event and the people attending that we would move it to Monday - due the fact of hail and thunderstorms," Casilio stated in an interview with WBEN. "We considered on doing the fifth also, but we wanted to play it safe. We thought Monday night was the way to go. There are people that had booked the town park for other events on the fifth and we thought it'd be easier just to do it on the first."

Casilio was happy to see that the event was able work out in the end, and credited everyone who helped reschedule it in under two hours. Despite being on a Monday evening, he says the event will be the same as how it was originally planned.

"Everything is basically the same," stated Casilio. "Besides the fireworks, we have music with our fireworks, we have local nonprofits like the American Legion [and] the lions rotary clubs will all be offering food beer to people that attend the event. All that is planned to be there."
