Amity man says mailbox bombed July 4th
AMITY, Arkansas — Clark County deputies probed a July 4th complaint of a reported bomb explosion that took out a rural Arkansas man’s mailbox. According to an incident report released this week at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, a 69-year-old Calvin Road man reported that his mailbox was blown to smithereens late on the evening of July 4, 2024.

Clark County prisoner attacks fellow inmate with bleach
ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas — An attack on a fellow inmate prompted a new felony indictment for a Gurdon man being held on drug charges. A probable cause affidavit filed this week by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office says that 59-year-old Anthony Donnel Anderson sprayed another inmate, Ricky Provence Jr., 22, in the face and eyes with a watered-down bleach solution used for cleaning showers and toilets in jail cells.
Arkadelphia’s Eddie Arnold tabbed for Electoral College
When the Electoral College meets on December 17, 2024, to cast the official votes for president, a Clark County man will be among those voting. Among Arkansas’ six Electoral College members for 2024 is Eddie Arnold, a long-time Arkadelphia businessman who served several years as chairman of the local Republican Party. He is currently serving as Fourth District Chairman and has recently been elected as a member of the Republican National Committee from Arkansas, for which he will officially be sworn in for at the party’s national convention later this month.
