Zedell gets 4 years for murder of Louis Riggs
CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Martinsville man will spend time behind bars after being sentenced for the murder of Louis Riggs. Donmick Zedell appeared in Clark County Court for a sentencing hearing on Wednesday. The hearing follows Zedell being found guilty by a jury of 2nd degree murder in may of this year in relation to the stabbing death of Riggs in 2023.
Authorities Identify Teen Who Drowned In The Wabash River
Clark County, Il. – The Clark County Coroner, Jeff Pearce, announced that the teen that perished in the Wabash River Saturday was 15-year-old Lex Brown of Merom, Indiana. An autopsy conducted Monday confirmed that the manner of death was drowning. The teen drowned when he and family members were playing in the river, Saturday morning, when he was swept away by the current. After an extensive search his body was found in the river several hours later.

The body of a Sullivan County teen was recovered from the Wabash River near West Union, Illinois, on Saturday. The Clark County, Illinois, Sheriff's Office said deputies and other emergency personnel were dispatched about 10:15 a.m. Saturday on a report of a juvenile in distress in the Wabash southeast of West Union.

The body of a 15-year-old from Merom, Indiana, was recovered from the Wabash River on Saturday following an extensive search. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, along with all available emergency response agencies, were dispatched to the river southeast of West Union, Illinois, in response to a juvenile in distress. According to a Facebook post by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the juvenile had been playing in the water with several family members when he was swept away by the current. After a thorough search, the 15-year-old’s body was located at 2:05 p.m. CST.
