The Missouri Department of Transportation has delayed the start of work across the Missouri state line to Monday, Aug. 19. At that time, U.S. Route 61 is tentatively scheduled to close from just south of the Iowa State line to east of U.S. Route 136, near Alexandria in Clark County, as work begins on the initial phase of a project to raise the roadway approximately 2.5 feet on 1.3 miles of U.S. Route 61. The duration of the closure is scheduled for up to 14 days, to allow for the installation of new culvert pipes and drainage work at several locations within the project limits.

LURAY, Mo. (KHQA) — One teen is dead, and another seriously injured after an ATV crash in Clark County, Missouri, the evening of August 1. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, a 16-year-old male from Luray, Missouri, traveled off the right side of the roadway.

A teenager was killed and a second seriously injured in an accident in Clark County on Thursday, Aug. 1, near Luray, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place at about 4:25 p.m. Thursday on Route K, about one half mile north of Luray. The department reports, the 2021 Can Am ATV traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking several trees.
