Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Less wildfire smoke from southern California drifed into southern Nevada Monday afternoon, and Clark County responded by reducing an Air Quality Alert to an Air Quality Advisory.

Right now, the advisory is only in effect on Monday. Firefighters are gaining ground on the Post Fire burning north of Los Angeles, and Las Vegas' forecast for Tuesday shows winds coming out of the north that would push the smoke out of the valley to the south.

The Post Fire burning has so far burned more than 15,000 acres and has forced some nearby residents to evacuate. The fire was only 2 percent contained as of Sunday night

Event though the initial air quality warnings were downgraded, Clark County is still advising groups especially sensitivity to smoke to stay indoors, keeps windows and/or doors closed, and consider changing air filters if they’re dirty.
