I wrote last year about our fun trip as guest lighthouse keepers as part of a volunteer program in Cheboygan, Michigan through Great Lake Lightkeeper’s Association. On our six-day trip, we had a set schedule during the days to lead tours and man the gift shop, but after hours we were free and on our own to explore the area at the top of Michigan’s mitten. On our first day there, we met up with someone on staff with the organization that manages the lighthouse and when we asked him where to go for dinner that night, he didn’t hesitate for a second. “Legs Inn!” he called out. He talked about how unique the place was and that it was well worth the 35-40 minute drive to get to this out-of-the way destination overlooking Lake Michigan.
