Police Chase Through Snowy Range Ends In Tragic Death
Photo – Snowy Range highway – Bigfoot99 file photo. A police chase through the Snowy Range ends with an 18-year old suspect from Saratoga killing himself. Late Wednesday evening, a Saratoga Police Officer attempted to stop a green and gold Subaru Outback for speeding in town. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Saratoga resident Ayden Lecureux, refused to stop for the police officer and attempted to flee. Lecureux reached speeds of 60 miles an hour in town as he fled south along Highway 130.
Paw patrol: Laramie County’s new K-9 heroes hit the streets
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office proudly announced the graduation of its latest K-9 teams July 26. These teams have successfully completed a rigorous training program, earning certification in detecting explosives or narcotics. The community welcomes K-9 Yento with Deputy Groendal, K-9 Blair with Deputy Wright and K-9 Yapp with Sergeant Atencio.

Casper’s Freiberg family establishes scholarship
The family of Ferne J. and the late Patrick J. Freiberg have established a scholarship for Casper College students through the Casper College Foundation. “This scholarship is in honor of Pat and Ferne Freiberg. They have seen the benefits of Casper College through the classes offered and taken by themselves, their kids, and their grandkids,” said Jill (Freiberg) Weibel, daughter.

Trumpeter Swans released in Wind River Range for first time
JACKSON, Wyo. — This month, the Wyoming Wetlands Society (WWS) released five of their Trumpeter Swan yearlings for the first time in a wetland in the Wind River Range. Yearlings are Trumpeter Swans that are a year old. WWS’ Captive Breeding Program has been releasing swans in the Wyoming, Montana and Idaho region, including in Yellowstone National Park (YNP), for decades to help restore swan populations in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE).
